Education campaign · Children from Rasuwa
2026 Campaign · Rasuwa, Nepal

Rasuwa Kids A road to school that changes everything.

We're bringing 8-10 children from remote villages in Rasuwa —one of the districts hit hardest by the 2015 earthquake— to private boarding schools in Kathmandu. Full board, education, healthcare and care. For €50 a month you open the first real door of their lives.

How it works
Why Rasuwa

The village school isn't enough anymore.

Rasuwa is one of Nepal's most isolated districts and one of those hit hardest by the 2015 earthquake. Many villages are still being rebuilt. Public schools run on very little: single classrooms for several grades and teachers who are absent for weeks when the mountain roads close.

The most promising children —the ones who could become doctors, teachers, engineers or forest rangers— lose any real chance of competing once they reach high school. Nepal's brutally competitive system has already left them behind.

Our answer, together with the local team: together with the families and communities, we select the most committed children and bring them to a private boarding school in Kathmandu with full board, so they can study on equal footing with any other kid in the capital.

How it works

Three commitments to every child and family.

We don't replace families or local schools — we walk alongside them. The team in Nepal —education officers and social workers— follows every child every month.

01

Selection with criteria

Schools and communities in Rasuwa propose candidates. We visit families, assess commitment and sign a family agreement with each one.

02

Enrol and accompany

We enrol them at a recognised private boarding school in Kathmandu. We cover tuition, full board, uniform, books, healthcare and activities. The local team follows up every month.

03

Stay accountable

Every sponsor gets two reports a year with grades, photos and a message from the child. We publish annual accounts and an activity report on the website.

Your contribution, in detail

€50 a month. Here's the breakdown.

In Nepal, €50 covers a full month of boarding for one child: not a symbolic donation, but the real fee of the program. Everything is backed by school invoices.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most.

Will I know exactly which child I'm sponsoring?

Yes. Every sponsor at the €50/month level gets the name, age, home village and a photograph of the child they support. When families give consent, we also share report cards and letters. We take child protection very seriously: full names and photographs are never published on social media without signed authorisation.

Why a private boarding school in Kathmandu rather than village schools?

We also work in rural schools — it's been part of our day-to-day since 2008. But for these children, the gap with the Nepalese system is huge. A private boarding school in Kathmandu gives them year-round continuity, proper meals, medical care and access to labs, English and computers. It's the only realistic path to university or higher vocational training.

What happens during the holidays?

Children return to Rasuwa with their families during long holidays. The program covers transport and local-team follow-up during those periods. Keeping the bond with the family and the village is a non-negotiable principle for us.

What if I can't pay my monthly fee one month?

You can pause or cancel your fee by writing to us. No penalty, no uncomfortable questions. If several sponsors cancel at once, we cover the gap from the association's general fund so that no child is left without a place mid-year.

How do I know the money really reaches its destination?

The association is governed by Spanish Law 1/2002 and is registered in the National Registry of Associations (number 593389). We publish annual accounts and an activity report, and for this specific campaign we share the school invoices that back each fee. Your donations are tax-deductible under Spanish Law 49/2002 and you receive an official tax certificate each year.

Can I visit the school and the children?

Yes, always within our child-protection protocol. Sponsor visits are coordinated with the school and the local team, normally within the volunteering trips we organise every year.
